Frequently Asked Questions

How can therapy help me?

Therapy is your dedicated space to thoughtfully explore your feelings, thoughts, behaviors, ideas, beliefs, and the deeper aspects of your inner workings. Within this safe environment, you have the opportunity to process trauma, openly discuss current concerns, consider future plans, and receive personalized one-on-one support from a licensed professional who genuinely cares about your well-being and personal growth.

How do I choose the right therapist?

Finding the right therapist is like shopping for clothes. Looking online for someone who matches your needs is just the first step. When you meet them, you see how comfortable you feel and how well they make you feel safe and welcome. Sometimes it takes a few visits to know if a therapist is right for you, or you might feel it immediately. Everyone should be able to choose who feels best for them. If I’m not the right fit, I’m here to help you find someone who is.

What can I expect at my first appointment?

At your first appointment, the receptionist will ask whom you are here to see for building security. Then, I, Staci Briggs, LPC, will meet you and take you to my office. We’ll review the history form you filled out online, and I’ll ask some extra questions to better understand your needs.

This session focuses mainly on gathering information, so I might talk more than usual. You’ll have plenty of chances to discuss your concerns, struggles, relationships, trauma, or anything else important. You can also ask me any questions before we begin therapy.

Before we finish, we’ll set your therapy goals together, and I’ll schedule your next appointment.

How do I cancel appointments?

You can cancel appointments by email, phone (voicemail), or the patient portal, where you can cancel or send a message. Please give at least 24 hours' notice to avoid a late cancellation fee. The fee may be waived if we agree the cancellation was unavoidable.
